What are the best resorts to go to in Cuba for my first time?

This is my first time planning a vacation and I want it to be perfect. My boyfriend and are thinking of going to Cuba because it's more affordable, but we are willing to pay the additional money for a high quality resort. What are some good resorts, 3.5 * lowest, up to 5*? I'm looking for a nice hotel, beachfront, and solid service.

2. If you want a 5 star the Paradisus Rio de Oro is meant to be great - in Guardalavaca. First Choice have some deals on for Cuba at the moment if you book by 13th April...
3. The best resorts to go to are Sol Meliá. But don't book at a 3.5*. You should go at least 4* in Cuba. Take a look at these links and examine the different resorts. Basically what you see and read are pretty much what you'll experience. 4. Iberostar varadero is apparently the best. But for the most reviews check out www.trip advisor.com. This is a website with reviews from people who have stayed at different resorts.

6. First of all when are you going ? Do not go to the northwest coast of Cuba( Havana or Varadero ) in December or January because the nights can get very cool. Other than that you get what you pay for.
7. Oasis Varadero 1920 . Just got back. Staff were nice, nightly entertainment was great, reallyy nice and long beach, great food and the hotel rooms are clean (so are the bathrooms, but wear flip flops when showering, just in case.) I made friends with the dancers, they were really great :D The disco is always full with great music! It's a pretty stretched out resort but after day 1 you'll be used to it.
